Cruise ship schedule FAQ

Which cruise ships are in port today in St. Thomas?

The live schedule on this page lists every cruise ship calling at Havensight (the WICO dock) and Crown Bay in St. Thomas today, with the cruise line, expected passenger count, dock and arrival and departure times in Atlantic Standard Time. Switch to This Week or This Month for the days ahead, or open the St. Thomas page for a real map of both piers.

Where do cruise ships dock in St. Thomas?

St. Thomas has two cruise terminals on Charlotte Amalie Harbor. The West Indian Company (WICO) dock at Havensight is a 1,500-foot pier on the east side of the harbor, a 20-minute walk from downtown, with Havensight Mall and Yacht Haven Grande at its foot; it hosts most Carnival, Norwegian, Disney, Princess and MSC calls. The Crown Bay pier is 1.6 miles west near the airport and is used mostly by Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. On the busiest days a third ship anchors in the harbor and tenders ashore.

What is the St. Thomas cruise ship schedule for this week?

Choose This Week and the St. Thomas tab: the calendar colors each day by expected passenger volume and the table lists every ship, cruise line, passenger count, dock and times. St. Thomas typically sees 10 to 20 or more calls a week in the November-to-April high season, concentrated Monday to Friday, and far fewer in September and October.

How many cruise ships visit the US Virgin Islands each week?

St. Thomas is one of the busiest cruise ports in the Caribbean, with two or three ships in port on a typical winter weekday and up to six on the busiest days. St. Croix (Frederiksted) sees a few calls a week in season, and Tortola (Road Town) one to four. Use the This Week and This Month views for the exact count on your dates.

What time do cruise ships arrive and leave the Virgin Islands?

Most ships arrive between 7:00 and 10:00 AM and sail between 4:00 and 7:00 PM, giving passengers a full day ashore. Every time on this site is Atlantic Standard Time (AST, UTC−4), which the Virgin Islands keep year-round.

Where do cruise ships dock in Tortola and St. Croix?

Tortola cruise ships dock at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park in Road Town, a 10-minute walk from Main Street and the ferry terminal; a few small ships call at Soper's Hole on the West End instead. St. Croix cruise ships dock at the Frederiksted Pier on the island's west coast, with Fort Frederik, Strand Street and the town beaches within a few minutes' walk.

How does the cruise schedule affect the beaches?

Passenger volume is the best predictor of beach crowds in the islands. Magens Bay in St. Thomas and Cane Garden Bay in Tortola fill first on multi-ship days, while days with no ships are the quietest. The beach crowd forecast on this site uses these same port calls, so check the calendar before choosing a beach day.

Schedule compiled from V.I. Port Authority and BVI Ports Authority calendars and cruise-line itineraries; refreshed daily. Counts on this page cover the Virgin Islands; San Juan and Ponce have their own Puerto Rico cruise schedule. Itineraries change with weather and dry-dock — treat this as scheduled, not live. Times in AST (UTC−4).
