STT Airport Crowds

Good to know

• Airport terminal opens at 6:00am — you can't get inside earlier.
• STT has only 2 TSA lanes — peak lines can exceed 2 hours.
• Check-in desks open ~3 hours before departure, not earlier.
• TSA PreCheck and Global Entry are both available at STT.
• US Customs at STT: the USVI is OUTSIDE the US customs zone, so every traveler heading back to the mainland has to clear US Customs & Border Protection before boarding.
• Saturday mornings remain the busiest time of the week, especially Dec–Apr.
• Inter-island prop flights (9K, WB, Tradewind) use a separate check-in area and don't share the main TSA queue.
