WAPA's map does not always clear an outage once it is fixed. These have been open for more than 7 days without an update from WAPA; we cannot tell whether these customers are really still without power, so they are kept out of the count above.

Outage history and reports

Since Oct 20 we have read WAPA's map every 10 minutes: 5 outages have been restored in the last 30 days, affecting 131 customers, typically back in 28 min. Filter by date, island, WAPA's status and size; every chart, the map and the table follow the filters, and the table downloads as CSV.

Which feeder am I on? Every WAPA feeder

WAPA's own feeder listing (updated June 2024) names the major places on each feeder; WAPA notes it may not include every section of a feeder. Places marked split are divided between two or three feeders. Rotating outages and WAPA Alerts name feeders, so this is the list to check them against. To report an outage: (340) 773-2250, option 4.

Rotating outages and WAPA Alerts

When generation runs short WAPA rotates outages feeder by feeder and sends the schedule by WAPA Alerts (text and email) and on its Facebook page. Each schedule we receive is listed here with its time windows and the feeders it names, and is marked when WAPA cancels it. Which feeder am I on?

Where these numbers come from

Every outage above is from WAPA's own public outage map (outageviewer.viwapa.vi), read when this page was last built (today 7:15 PM AST; it rebuilds every few minutes). A “customer” is a WAPA account (a meter), not a person. The island is placed from the point WAPA maps each outage; the area name is the one most of its listed streets share. “Predicted” and “Verified” are WAPA's own labels. The history is ours: WAPA's map only shows what is open now, so we keep a reading every 10 minutes. VIslandGuide is not affiliated with WAPA; to report an outage, use WAPA's report page.
